Houston Celebrates Thanksgiving

Mayor Turner will host the 69th Annual HEB Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday, November 22nd at 9AM. The 2018 Grand Marshalls will be Houston Astro Jose Altuve and Houston Rocket James Harden! The route will begin downtown at the intersection of Lamar St and Smith St.

In observance of the holiday, the District C office will be closed on Thursday, November 22nd and Friday, November 23rd.

Also, please note that the City of Houston Waste Collection and Facility Schedule will change due to the Thanksgiving holiday, with the normal schedule resuming Thursday, November 15, 2018.

Big City Mayors Meeting

Mayor Pro Tem Cohen represented Houston at a meeting of the Texas Big City Mayors in San Antonio. Joined by San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg, Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings, and Austin Mayor Steve Adler, the group discussed school finance and the other priorities they have in common for the upcoming Texas Legislative Session, which will commence in January.
