The project provides for the design and construction of a new roadway with storm drainage, curbs, sidewalks, driveways, street lighting, and upgrades to necessary underground utilities.

What’s Happening in the Office

Mayor Pro Tem Cohen met with “Flood Czar” and former Council Member Steve Costello and Managing Engineer Tanu Hiremath to discuss the Storm Water Action Team (SWAT) Program. This initiative seeks to improve localized drainage with small-scale projects throughout Houston. They address issues such as:

• Re-establishing curbs and gutters
• Replacing and upsizing drainage inlets
• Replacing collapsed outfalls
• Clearing and regrading drainage ditches

If your neighborhood’s drainage is being impacted by one of these specific issues, please alert the District C office: DistrictC@houstontx.gov. We will add it to the list for consideration in the SWAT Program.
