What’s Happening in the Annex

Mayor Pro Tem Cohen met with members of the Houston Parks and Recreation Department and the Memorial/Heights Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone (TIRZ) 5 to discuss an upcoming partnership to improve Little Thicket Park. Located in District C’s Shady Acres neighborhood, the park will receive erosion control and potentially other upgrades. A public meeting is being planned to share updates with the community and details will be shared as they are confirmed.

White Linen Night in the Heights Returns

The Houston Heights will host the 12th annual White Linen Night in the Heights this Saturday, August 4th, from 6PM-10PM. This iconic event highlights local artists, musicians, and businesses that thrive in the eclectic, historic neighborhood that is the Heights. Activities will center on the 200 and 300 blocks of W. 19th St and participants are encouraged to wear white!

Houston Arts Alliance Grant Workshop

On Tuesday, August 7th, the Houston Arts Alliance will host a workshop for District C artists to provide information about grant opportunities available for Houston artists and the processes to apply for them. The meeting will take place from 3PM-6PM at the Heights Public Library (1302 Heights Blvd, 77008).
