Mayor Pro Tem Cohen hosted the annual District C Capital Improvement Plan Meeting, during which the Public Works and Engineering Department and others presented upcoming infrastructure upgrades that will improve District C over the next five years.
A highlight of the meeting was the announcement that, due to Mayor Pro Tem Cohen’s successful advocacy and the area’s high need, Cottage Grove – East has been proposed for a total reconstruction, to begin in 2020. Council will vote on the proposed FY2018-2022 CIP in the coming months. Cottage Grove – West remains at top of the Candidate Project List, and Mayor Pro Tem Cohen will continue her advocacy for its inclusion in the FY2019-2023 CIP.
Attendees had the opportunity to converse with experts from each department one-on-one in breakout sessions to have their specific questions answered. Those who were unable to attend may view the meeting online via HTV (under the ‘Committees & Commissions’ tab) and submit their project suggestions to 311@houstontx.gov.
