Her VOICE, a nonprofit which offers mentorship and education to women who have been victims of intimate partner violence or domestic violence, is hosting its first fundraiser on Saturday, April 25, at the Sheraton Suites Galleria, 2400 W. Loop South.

LOGO“The response from the community has been amazing,” said Shana Lewis, Her VOICE’s executive director. “Female survivors of domestic violence have shared with me just how important the support is from other survivors as they navigate life after leaving their abuser. The value in speaking with someone who intimately knows what her experience has been like is priceless. With this in mind, Her VOICE is dedicated to providing the necessary support for these women to sustain their recovery as they put their lives back together piece by piece.”

City Councilwoman Ellen Cohen will give the keynote address and Deborah Duncan from “Great Day Houston” will serve as mistress of ceremonies. A panel discussion will include a survivor of abuse and a reformed abuser. This event is open to both men and women.
