Mayor Parker will declare Friday, April 13, 2012 as Bike to Work designed to encourage riders to get health and stay fit by cycling one of several Hike and Bike Trails located throughout Houston. Rides will start at selected bike shops around Houston and end at City Hall for a brief presentation with Mayor Parker and members of the biking community. All you have to do is get your bike ready to go, put on your best riding attire and meet at participating bike shop. Breakfast will be served after the ride.

The City of Houston is working towards providing a city-wide bikeway network to enhance mobility for all skill levels of bicyclists, so dust off that bike, pump up your tires and join neighbors at City Hall as Houston celebrates Friday, April 13, 2012 as Bike to Work Day.

During the City Hall presentation, bicyclists will learn more about upcoming projects and green initiatives, as well as talk about how easy it is to travel thru Houston on a bicycle, share information about favorite bike routes and trails.
