An Update from Ellen

What an astounding 48 hours! When early voting began on Monday, I was among the crowd of voters waiting to make my voice heard. As I’ve visited various polling locations in these first two days of early voting, the numbers of people and the exuberance they feel is energizing.

Since this district has one of the highest voting records in the state, I know you will make your vote count. What I would also encourage you to do is to enlist your friends and family in Texas and across the U.S. to honor this privilege we have of choosing our elected officials.

If the volume of people I’ve seen at early voting is any indicator, Election Day will be spectacular. You will avoid the lines if you vote early! However, if you choose to wait for the big day, our website will provide up-to-date polling locations.

As for my campaign, let me assure you that I appreciate every kind word you’ve shared, your notes, your gifts of time and donations.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my first session as State Representative for District 134. And with your support, I look forward to returning in January for my second session.

Start Your Election Night Celebrations with Ellen!

After we spend time at the polls on November 4, we plan on watching election returns (and hopefully celebrating) at our campaign headquarters at 4950 Bissonnet (map).

Please start your evening with Ellen on Election Night. Beginning at 7 p.m., we’ll provide appetizers and drinks as we view the televised results. Since we are a district race, we expect to see results fairly quickly. Then you have plenty of time to stop by events for other county, state, and national candidates.

Please join us at 7 p.m. on November 4!

Volunteers Are Critical to Campaign

We are so grateful to the many volunteers who have given their time to block walk, make calls, distribute information at the polls, and work in our office!

But we are not finished! We can use your help!

Please consider giving three hours between now and November 4. Call the campaign office at 713-838-0134 to schedule your time or email campaign@ellencohen.org.

Yard Signs Are Still Available!!!

A political analyst reported that in District 134 the race can often be predicted by the presence of yard signs.

It’s not too late to get your Ellen Cohen yard sign, please call 713-838-0134, email campaign@ellencohen.org, or stop by the office at 4950 Bissonnet (map). Let us know and we will be happy to deliver one to you!

Thank You for Your Support!

As always, your financial support is greatly appreciated. Please send your contribution to the Ellen Cohen Campaign, 7670 Woodway, Suite 110, Houston, 77063 or donate securely online.

Ellen Receives Houston Chronicle Endorsement

State Representative Ellen Cohen has received the endorsement of the Houston Chronicle.

The Chronicle staff called State Representative Cohen “a powerful force on health and environmental issues” and encouraged voters to issue the much-recognized state legislator “their own award at the ballot box.”
